Search's Golden Triangle
In a study conducted by Eyetools Eyetracking, the key location on Google for visibility as determined by the eye activity in the study is a triangle that extends from the top of the results over to the top of the first result, then down to a point on the left side at the bottom of the "above the fold" visible results. This key area was looked at by 100 percent of the participants. In the study, this was referred to as the "Golden Triangle".

Types of Affiliate Programs
There are a multitude of affiliate programs available that cover almost every possible topic or category.

AdSense is probably the most well known and the most popular offering a Pay Per Click (PPC) program utilizing contextual advertising, whereby ad code is pasted into your web page and Google spiders the text content of your page in order to display relevant ads.

Other popular programs include Clickbank, Commission Junction and Share a Sale, just to mention a few.

Ad Blocks
This template is set up using two ad blocks in the left column and another block at the top of the content section on the sub page. The sub page block is designed to display banner type ads with the dimensions of 468 x 60 pixels. Each block currently contains image file samples of ads. Replace the image files with your AdSense code or your banner.

Setting Up AdSense
First you will need to apply for an AdSense account. This can be done by going to:
http://adsense.google.com
After your account has been set up, you will need to login to your account manager and select AdSense Setup. Choosing AdSense for content will allow you to display contextual ads and/or image ads. Use the wizard to setup your ad and at the end of the process you will be able to copy your AdSense code and paste it into your ad blocks.
The ad blocks in the left column are set up for 250 x 250 pixel ads and the sub page ad block at the top of the content area is set up for 468 x 60 ads.
